Monroe Lake is a reservoir located in southern Indiana, within the Hoosier National Forest. It was created by the construction of the Monroe Dam on Salt Creek in the 1960s. The lake covers an area of over 10,000 acres and has a shoreline of over 100 miles. Monroe Lake offers a variety of recreational activities, including boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, and camping. It is also home to a diverse array of wildlife, including bald eagles, ospreys, white-tailed deer, and wild turkeys.
